Flying For Freedom

In the latter part of this month, the British Antarctic Microlight Expedition will conduct cold weather testing training in Northern Sweden. We expect the conditions in N. Sweden to be harsh and brutal. The pilots (some of whom are qualified and some whom are under training – both injured service personnel and support elements) will have their first taste of take off and landing microlights on snow and ice.
www.fly2pole.com gives more information on who we are and what we’re doing.
The microlight in the image, shows the version we shall be taking to the South Pole. We’re looking for you to support us in this Guinness World Record setting British Expedition.

Happy New Year

Wishing you all the best for 2014. Let’s make it a good one!

Website is live!

20131231-133652.jpgOur website builder promised us a shiny new site by the end of 2013…and so now here it is! Phase 1 is complete and gradually we will add more, but here you’ll now be able to find out about the challenges, what’s planned and what’s happening. What’s more, since we can access the site while on the move, updates should happen more regularly!

Best wishes to you all for a prosperous and happy 2014. We’re looking forward to what it brings…

Blossom finishes her rebuild

Blossom sustained some pretty severe damage at the hands of Typhoon Mawar. But it’s testament to the superb boat-building skills of Jamie and Emily at Global Boat Works that she sustained as little damage as she did – it could have been much, much worse.

But Blossom is now fit and ready for the ocean again…watch this space!

Welcome to the site!

We’re building a great new site. Watch it grow!
